Projects
I have a large number of projects currently underway — almost certainly far too many. But I have always found there to be too many desserts on the buffet table of life. When everything looks so delicious, how can you possibly limit yourself to just one choice? It may be inefficient, and at times crazy-making, but I am happiest when I have many different things going on at once.
In an average week, I spend a fair amount of time managing my businesses Get Clients Now! and Get Hired Now!, and working with my social entrepreneur clients. I also deliver one or two workshops or talks each month, which you’ll find listed on the Event Calendar. What appears below is an inventory of projects I am engaged in that aren’t detailed elsewhere. In some cases, I’ve included how you can participate or contribute.
Send Girls to School Project
Send Girls to School is an education and advocacy project I founded to help spread the message that educating girls in the developing world yields a higher rate of return than any other investment in alleviating poverty. You can help with this project by visiting the site and donating to one of several nonprofits that address this issue. You can also volunteer a bit of your time. For example, I am currently seeking a graphic designer who would be willing to create a t-shirt design pro bono.

Social Entrepreneurship Book & Audio Series
I’m working on a book titled Socialpreneurship: The Entrepreneur’s Guide to Building a Better World. Its focus will be on North American small business owners and independent professionals, and how they can engage in social entrepreneurship. If you are a social entrepreneur, professional activist, or direct a social enterprise, and would like to be interviewed for this book, please contact me.
I’m also producing an audio series on social entrepreneurship. The first of these audios is completed: Introduction to Social Entrepreneurship. The next audio will be on Business Models and Role Models. I’m currently gathering questions for this program. If you have questions about social entrepreneurship models, submit them here. If any of your questions are selected for the audio, you’ll receive a complimentary copy when it’s finished.

How to Become a Hero Book & Blog
Since 2003, I’ve been authoring the blog How to Become a Hero: You Are the Champion the World Is Waiting For. My entries there explore the intersection between life purpose, leadership, service to others, and social change. You can read the blog or subscribe here. I’m also working on a book with the same title, which follows the steps for becoming a hero I’ve been using in workshops and talks.

Articles & Book Chapters
I always have a number of writing projects in the works. I write a new marketing article monthly for the Get Clients Now! E-Letter, and write a couple of new pieces for the Get Clients Now! Answer Center. I also submit a monthly article to RainToday. I wrote a chapter for the just-released Guerrilla Marketing on the Front Lines, and I will also have a chapter in the forthcoming Top Dog Sales Secrets 2. I recently wrote an article about social entrepreneurship for the Practice Pay Solutions newsletter. And I’m a frequent contributor to the SalesDog blog, Choice magazine, and Home Business magazine.

OK, I know this seems like a lot when I list it all in one place, but believe it or not, I work a 45-hour week, take five vacations each year, sleep 7-8 hours per night, go to the gym three times a week, and have enough time for fun with my partner Dave, a bunch of friends, and a couple of hobbies. What can I say? I like to keep busy.
